On a beautiful spring afternoon at Community America Ballpark, the Kansas City T-Bones lost the deciding game of their season-opening series against the Lincoln (Neb.) Saltdogs, 4 – 3.

The T-Bones rallied from a 3-run deficit, scoring twice in the bottom of the eighth inning to make it a close contest. A sacrifice fly from first baseman Chase McDonald and RBI ground out from Brett Wiley accounted for the runs.

T-Bones reliever Myles Smith gave up three runs to the Saltdogs in the sixth, breaking a 1 – 1 tie.

Both teams scored a run in the second inning. The T-Bones tied the game in the bottom of the second on a double by catcher Leo Rojas. T-Bones starter Chris Perry gave up a run in the top of the second, the only run he would give up in five innings of work.

  1. Great article and pictures. My son the T-Bones broadcaster, Dan Vaughan, posted this for all to enjoy from near and far. I live in Northern Indiana.
