The BPU Charity Golf Tournament Committee distributed checks totaling $21,000 to the KCK Library Foundation, Wyandotte County Sports Association and the BPU Employee Foundation.
Proceeds were raised in the corporate sponsored 2016 BPU Charity Golf Tournament event.
As part of its on-going commitment to the community, BPU employees sponsor and hold an annual golf tournament. Since it began in 1992, the annual event has raised over a half a million dollars for area children’s charities and nonprofit organizations that benefit children and youth in Wyandotte County.
This year’s tournament is slated for Saturday, Sept. 9, at Dub’s Dread.
Soon the golf committee will be looking for organizations in need of funding from proceeds raised at this year’s event. Registration information and sponsorship information is expected to be distributed soon.
