Victims of double fatality on I-70 identified

The victims of a double fatality crash on I-70 on Tuesday night have been identified, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.

The crash happened about 9:54 p.m. on eastbound I-70, east of 18th Street in Kansas City, Kansas, according to the trooper’s report.

The trooper’s report stated that a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was eastbound on I-70 when a 2005 Lincoln Navigator was driving the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of I-70.

The Lincoln Navigator struck the Dodge Ram head-on, the trooper’s report stated. Both drivers died.

The driver of the Navigator was Troy E. Reliford, 34, of Lees Summit, Missouri, according to the trooper’s report.

The driver of the Dodge Ram 1500 was Tyrone A. Jennings Jr., 30, of Kansas City, Kansas.

The trooper’s report stated neither driver was wearing a seat belt.
