Wolf to speak at Historical Society meeting June 22

Don Wolf, a Kansas City, Kan., photographer and author who recently wrote the book, “A Croatian Love Story,” will be the guest speaker at the quarterly meeting at 2 p.m. June 22 of the Wyandotte County Historical Society, 631 N. 126th, Bonner Springs.

A lifelong resident of Wyandotte County, Wolf grew up on Strawberry Hill watching newly arrived immigrants from Croatia struggle to build, educate, become citizens in the search for the American dream without forgetting those left at home. His book was released last fall.

The Croatian people of Strawberry Hill educated their people and moved into local politics carving out their position of strength in the Kansas City, Kan., community. Spreading throughout the Greater Kansas City area they continue to preserve and cherish their traditions as they embrace the freedoms of the United States. Wolf’s heritage, culture and his Croatian love story is in this presentation.
Wolf will have copies of his book available for purchase. There will also be light refreshments after the meeting, which starts at 2 p.m.
