Two Wyandotte County schools receive sportsmanship awards

Schlagle and Piper high schools have received sportsmanship awards for state tournament games in the girls basketball programs.

Schlagle received a certificate for sportsmanship in Class 5A, and Piper received a plaque and medals for sportsmanship in Class 4A, Division 1.

Each year, the Kansas State High School Activities Association presents sportsmanship certificates, plaques and medals to schools with outstanding sportsmanship.

A KSHSAA committee evaluated and rated cheerleaders, school cheering section, adult and non-high school followers, team and coaches of each school.

  1. I was at the game and totally agree. We were proud to wear Piper shirts.
