Schlagle loses state championship title game, 66-49

Schlagle High School took the runner-up trophy in the 5A boys basketball state tournament, losing in the final to Tecumseh-Shawnee Heights High School, 66 to 49. The game was played at the Kansas Expocentre in Topeka on March 11.

Shawnee Heights held a 13-point lead at the half, making 5 of 8 three-point attempts. Schlagle’s shooting was cold in the first half, making only 6 of 29 shots from the field. Schlagle got its offense going in the second half, but was not able to make a dent in the lead.

Sophomore Ronnell Mitchell led the way for the Stallions, scoring 15 points on 6 for 17 shooting, including 2 three-point baskets.
