An injury-accident was reported at 8:50 p.m. Feb. 23 on I-635 northbound at State Avenue, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
An Acura was traveling northbound on I-635 at an excessive speed, and tried to pass a Ford Windstar minivan by going onto the left shoulder, according to the trooper’s report.
The Acura struck the Windstar and the barrier wall, the trooper’s report stated.
The driver of the Acura, a 23-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man, was injured and taken to a hospital, the trooper’s report stated.
The driver of the Windstar, a 19-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man, was not injured, according to the report. The Windstar also contained a 19-year-old Kansas City, Kan., male passenger who was not injured, the report said.
