Two residents and one firefighter were reported injured in a fire at 10:44 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at a home at 6015 Sewell Ave., Kansas City, Kan.
A Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department spokesman said two occupants and one firefighter were taken to area hospitals for evaluation. Another resident was treated at the scene, the spokesman said.
When crews arrived, within 5 minutes of the call, they saw heavy smoke and fire coming from a one-story wood-framed residence, the spokesman said.
The structure was heavily involved with fire showing from the front and roof, according to the spokesman.
The fire was brought under control within 60 minutes, the spokesman said.
The fire investigator is looking into the cause of the fire, which is currently undetermined, according to the spokesman.
The total fire loss was estimated at $185,000, including the structure and contents. The pre-fire value of the structure involved was estimated at $85,000.
