Westbound I-70 on the Kansas Turnpike is closed Thursday morning because of a fatal crash between Lawrence and the Tonganoxie exit, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Westbound traffic has been detoured onto Tonganoxie County Road 1 exit, north to westbound U.S. 24-40 to Lawrence, and then back onto westbound I-70, a KDOT spokesman stated.
