Weather forecast changes; ice storm warning to begin at 6 p.m. tonight

The National Weather Service has changed its forecast for Wyandotte County, to begin an ice storm warning at 6 p.m. tonight.

The warning continues until midnight Sunday night, according to the weather service.

Light precipitation is possible this evening, with periods of freezing rain through Sunday, according to the weather service.

The heaviest periods of ice accumulation are expected to be Saturday night into Sunday morning.

A National Weather Service radar map showed that a storm was located to the southeast of the Kansas City area, near Nevada, Mo., and Clinton, Mo.
