Four Extension programs to start

Four programs will begin in 2017 from the Wyandotte County office of K-State Research and Extension.

They include:

• ServSafe — Employee Food Handlers Course is great for anyone who works in food service or is interested in food service employment. The class is offered from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18. For more information or registration, call 913-299-9300 or e-mail [email protected].

• All Mixed Up — From homemade rubs to soup mixes, this class will provide recipes for a variety of mixes and tips on improving the nutritional content of your favorite mix. Location: Keeler Women’s Center, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kan. The class will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 24. For more information call 913-906-8990.

• Master Food Volunteer 2017 — The Master Food Volunteer Training Program will start Feb. 15. This program allows people with interests in food, cooking, and nutrition to take their expertise to a higher level while developing new avenues for helping in the community. • Stay Strong, Stay Healthy — An 8-week exercise program for older adults. The program targets strength, balance and flexibility. The program is held at the K-State Research and Extension office, 1216 N. 79th. The first program will be from 11 a.m. to noon April 4. Call 913-299-9300 for more information and registration.
