Victim of shooting homicide on North 56th Terrace identified

A man who died in a shooting in the 2000 block of North 56th Terrace at 1 a.m. Dec. 25 has been identified, according to the Kansas City, Kan., police.

The victim was Mario Sanders, a resident of Kansas City, Kan., police said.

Police responded to the report and found Sanders dead inside the residence. He had been shot, a police spokesman said.

The police spokesman said they would like to speak with Tyrone Hamilton, 24, in connection with the case. Hamilton has a warrant for felon in possession of a firearm and should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.

Residents are advised not to approach Hamilton but to call 911, and general information may be forwarded to the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
