The Unified Government offices will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26, for the Christmas holiday.
UG offices also will be closed on Monday, Jan. 2, to observe New Year’s Day.
Offices will reopen during regular business hours on Tuesday.
The administrative office and customer service lobby of the Board of Public Utilities will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26, for the Christmas holiday. BPU offices also will be closed on Monday, Jan. 2, to observe New Year’s Day.
Although BPU’s business offices are closed on holidays, emergency service is available seven days a week, 24 hours per day. For power emergencies, customers should call 913-573-9522. The water emergency number is 913-573-9622 from 8 a.m. to midnight on weekdays, and 913-573-9522 from midnight to 8 a.m., and during weekends and holidays.
Trash service will not be affected by the holidays this week and next week because the holidays fall on a Sunday, according to a UG announcement.
The Kansas City, Kan., Public Libraries will be closed Saturday, Dec. 24, through Monday, Dec. 26, for the Christmas holiday. The libraries reopen on Dec. 27, and will be open through Dec. 29.
The Kansas City, Kan., Public Libraries also will be closed Friday, Dec. 30, through Sunday, Jan. 1, for the New Year’s holiday.
