There are a number of warming centers in Wyandotte County.
The centers are open, during hours that they have listed, when the National Weather Service issues a wind chill warning or advisory. A wind chill advisory has been issued from 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, until noon Sunday, Dec. 18, according to the National Weather Service.
According to a list compiled by the Unified Government staff, the following are the warming centers open in Wyandotte County, during the specified hours listed:

Public libraries
The public libraries are open and available to the public during hours listed for warming centers. Residents will be asked to use the library resources while in the building. Using the library for sleeping will not be allowed. Residents will be able to read at the library.

Main Library, 625 Minnesota Ave., KCK. Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
