Democrats to meet Saturday morning
The Wyandotte County Third Saturday Democratic Breakfast will meet Saturday, Nov. 19, at The Dotte Spot Bar and Grill, 8123 Parallel Parkway. The featured speaker will be Bill Reardon, who was a state representative from Wyandotte County for 30 years and an educator for 51 years. The breakfast buffet starts at 8:15 a.m., with the program beginning at 9:15 p.m. All Democrats may attend. The cost of the breakfast is $10, or $6 for students and those on limited incomes. There is a $2 charge for coffee for those not purchasing breakfast. Reservations are requested to [email protected].

Eisenhower Holiday Craft Show today

The annual Eisenhower Holiday Craft Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Eisenhower Recreation Center, 2901 N. 72nd St., Kansas City, Kan. Crafters will sell items such as scarves, blankets, knitted and crocheted throws, spices, wood crafts and more. The event is open to the public.

School fundraiser planned
Christ the King School will celebrate the feast of Christ the King on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 53rd and Leavenworth Road. The eighth grade class will hold a taco – bingo fundraiser after the 4 p.m. Mass Nov. 19. Proceeds will go toward graduation, confirmation, retreat and field trips for the class.

Chili cook-off planned
The community is invited to the 7th Annual Mary Nutter Chili Cook-off and Cinnamon Roll Contest from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at First Christian Church, 148 N. Nettleton in Bonner Springs, Kan. There will be games, contests, bingo and prizes. To sign up for the chili and cinnamon rolls cook off or for more information call 913-441-3876. Tickets to eat chili and cinnamon rolls are $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 3-12.

Legends holiday lighting ceremony to be Nov. 19
The Legends Outlets will hold its 12th annual Legendary Tree Lighting Ceremony from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19. The lighting ceremony will be at the courtyard fountain area, where a 45-foot tree will be in place. Live holiday music, prizes, a special appearance by Santa Claus, selfies with Santa, and a large display of animated lights synchronized to music are featured. There will be a countdown to the tree lighting. The lights will be on display through early January 2017. This event is free and open to the public. El Centro plans 40th anniversary Nov. 19

El Centro plans its 40th anniversary celebration from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Embassy Suites Conference Center in Olathe, Kan. The event includes dinner, cocktails and dancing.
