About 21,403 pounds of chicken products from OSI Industries of Fort Atkinson, Wis., have been recalled, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The ready-to-eat products were produced on Aug. 5, 2016, and some were shipped to Kansas, according to a news release.
The chicken may be contaminated with extraneous materials, the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service said.
Affected were 35-ounce/2 pound 3 ounce frozen plastic packages containing “On-Cor Chicken Patties Microwaveable” with best by date of 8-5-2017.
The products subject to recall bear establishment number P-5615 inside a USDA mark of inspection.
The problem was discovered when the firm received notification of three consumer complaints mentioning firm blue plastic in their product, according to the news release. The product was contaminated about the time a trim repair was made on belt material.
Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a health care provider, according to the release.
