UG Commission to meet Thursday

The Unified Government Commission will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, in the fifth floor conference room, Suite 515, City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kan.

The county administrator will give an update followed by a legislative review at the 5 p.m. meeting, the agenda stated.

Afterward, the UG Commission will meet in the ninth floor conference room for an executive, closed session, on land acquisition, according to the agenda.

At 7 p.m. the UG Commission will hold a meeting in the Commission Chambers, lobby level, City Hall.

On the 7 p.m. Thursday UG agenda:
• Acceptance of a $248,696 grant under the Federal Victims of Crime At to fund office supplies for a VOCA-funded position and for emergency transportation. A 20 percent match would be required from in-kind services and funds already in the budget.
• Report from the Wyandotte County Solid Waste Committee.
• Approval to fund the gap between the 2017 budget for the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority services and the actual negotiated 2017 contract. At a standing committee meeting Oct. 24, the committee approved the elimination of the 105 Rosedale bus route and approved the UG taking over the 102 Central bus route.
• Third plat of the Schlitterbahn Vacation Village, 98th and Parallel Parkway.
• Presentation of police awards.

Another special UG session is scheduled at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, in the fifth floor conference room at City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kan. The meeting will be a strategic planning session.

All the meetings, except for executive sessions, are open to the public.
