Running Dead 5K scheduled today
The Running Dead 5K will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, starting at the Renaissance Festival at 126th and State Avenue, Bonner Springs. At this race, zombies may chase humans through the course. Participants may wear a Halloween costume. The registration charge today is $40. American Royal Barbecue continues Saturday

The American Royal Barbecue continues Saturday at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan. The event runs through Oct. 30. On Saturday, Oct. 29, the Cowtown Family Fun Fest will be held during the World Series of Barbecue at this competition. Boo Bash Halloween Party to be Oct. 29
The 4th Annual Boo Bash Halloween Party will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Bonner Springs City Library, 201 N. Nettleton Ave., Bonner Springs. The party is on a bigger scale this year with events throughout the library. Events include a live disc jockey playing terrifying tunes, scary stories by the fireplace, pumpkin decorating, a storywalk outside the library, and candy. Those attending may wear their costumes.

Chili supper planned Oct. 29

Grinter Chapel United Methodist Church, 7819 Swartz Road, Kansas City, Kan., will hold a chili supper fundraiser from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29. Included will be all-you-can-eat chili or vegetable soup or hot dogs. The charge is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger. The drink is included. There is a also a Trunk and Treat planned from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 29 at the church.

Church plans garage sale today
First Christian Church of Bonner Springs, 148 N. Nettleton, is planning a garage sale during Autumnfest from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29.

Bird watching planned at library
Bird watching is planned from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Main Kansas City, Kan., Public Library, 625 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kan. All ages may attend this program on the library grounds. The group will meet in the library café before going outside on the library grounds.

Health talk planned about chronic pain
A health and wellness talk about chronic pain will be given from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Main Kansas City, Kan., Public Library auditorium, 625 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kan. Chronic pain and chronic pain syndrome will be the topic. Dr. Derrick T. Dube, a recent graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College, will speak. The program is for adults and senior adults.

Adult Halloween craft class planned today
Make a Halloween mask at a craft class for adults to be held today from 10 a.m. to noon at the Main Kansas City, Kan., Public Library story time-craft room, 625 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kan. Pre-registration is required. The class is for adults and senior adults. Fancy masks for Halloween will be made. Teens may attend if accompanied by an adult. There is a $3 cost for supplies. Zombie Fest planned at library
A Zombie Fest is planned from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the West Wyandotte Library auditorium, 1737 N. 82nd, Kansas City, Kan. Teens and adults may attend. There will be snacks and a zombie makeup contest, with makeup available. The event is for ages 12 and older only.
