Update: According to police, the barricade at 25th and Garfield ended around 7 p.m. Tear gas was deployed at the home, and a person inside it came out.
Kansas City, Kan., police are investigating a homicide Friday afternoon in the 200 block of South Valley, according to police.
There was a shooting at that location, police stated.
In a separate case, police on Friday afternoon have surrounded a house at 25th and Garfield where a person is barricaded, according to police.
