Dense fog advisory in effect this morning

Patchy dense fog over eastern Kansas and western Missouri this morning will occasionally reduce visibility to under one-half mile, the National Weather Service said.

A dense fog advisory is in effect through 9 a.m. Thursday in Wyandotte County, forecasters said.

The fog will dissipate by mid-morning, with mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures for the remainder of the week, the weather service said.

Thunderstorms may return to the area by the middle of next week, according to the weather service.

Today’s high will be near 69, the weather service said. There will be a calm wind becoming south around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight, it will be mostly clear with a low of 55, and a south wind of 6 to 8 mph, according to the weather service.

Friday, expect mostly sunny skies and a high near 80, the weather service said. There will be a south southwest wind of 9 to 18 mph, gusting as high as 28 mph.

Friday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 63, according to the weather service, and a south southwest wind around 16 mph, gusting as high as 23 mph.

Saturday, the high will be 79 with mostly sunny skies, the weather service said, and a south southwest wind of 14 to 16 mph, gusting as high as 24 mph.

Saturday night, there will be partly cloudy skies and a low of 55, according to the weather service.

Sunday, expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 72, the weather service said.

Sunday night, the low will be 61 with partly cloudy skies, according to the weather service.
