Voter registration closes Oct. 18

Time is running out to register to vote for the Nov. 8 general election.

The voter registration deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 18, in Kansas.

The Wyandotte County Election Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and weekdays at 850 State Ave., Kansas City, Kan., for walk-in voter registration.

To check to see if you are registered to vote, go to the Voter View website at https://myvoteinfo.voteks.org/.

The Voter View website also has the location and address of your polling place. There is also a sample ballot on the Voter View site.

Online voter registration is offered at https://www.kdor.ks.gov/Apps/VoterReg/.

Kansas residents with a current Kansas driver’s license or nondriver’s identification card may register to vote online. If they are already registered, they can update their registration to report a change of address or change of name. Kansas asks for a document to prove citizenship, such as a birth certificate, for first-time voters.

El Centro will sponsor a Get Out the Vote Rally with voter registration booths from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at El Rio Bravo Supermarket, 11 S. 10th St., Kansas City, Kan. It will be a family-friendly event with food and music.
