The Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department, in conjunction with the International Association of Firefighters Local 64, will conduct a boot block campaign on Oct. 14 through 16 for police Capt. Robert (Dave) Melton’s family.
Capt. Melton died in the line of duty. “As public safety servants, we stand together in supporting the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department and Capt. Melton’s family,” said a spokesman for the Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department.
Collections will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
