The Kansas City, Kan., Women’s Chamber of Commerce will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 12.
The meeting will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 12 at Grinter Place, 1420 S. 78th St., Kansas City, Kan.
The theme of the meeting is “Purses with a Purpose,” the organization’s major fundraiser. It is a silent auction featuring handbags to benefit the Women’s Chamber. The funds are used for nontraditional college scholarships for women. Janie Gaunce of Grapevine Designs is scheduled to speak.
The special guest speaker at the meeting will be Superintendent Cindy Lane of the Kansas City, Kan., Public Schools. She will speak about the zero property tax increase bond issue on the ballot in November.
