All repair work on the westbound I-70 bridge over Quarry Road has been completed, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
The westbound I-70 over Quarry Road and northbound and southbound I-635 to westbound I-70 ramps will reopen to all traffic before the morning rush hour on Thursday, Sept. 22, weather permitting, a KDOT spokesman said.
Today, crews plan to remove temporary concrete barriers during the day and then will place permanent pavement markings overnight, the spokesman said.
In addition, crews will remove all traffic control devices during the overnight hours on Wednesday, so that all lanes of westbound I-70 and the two adjacent I-635 ramps can be reopened to unrestricted traffic before rush hour on Thursday morning, according to the spokesman.
KDOT urged motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and slow down when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
