Victim of drive-by shooting at 5th and Freeman identified

The victim of a homicide in the 500 block of Freeman Drive on Sept. 2 has been identified, according to Kansas City, Kan., police.

The victim was Brannae Brown, 15, a resident of Kansas City, Kan., police said.

Police said she was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound at 6:33 p.m. Sept. 2.

The preliminary investigation revealed that unknown suspects drove by and fired shots at the victim, striking her, police said.

The Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Major Case Unit is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.

  1. Such a smart young lady. What a waste of a life.Very well spoken girl. She wanted to be a Dentist and I know she would have been good in any profession.
