Kansas City, Kan., have identified the victim of a homicide who was found on the Missouri River bank on Saturday, Aug. 20.
The victim was Shannon R. Porter, 41, who was currently residing in Kansas City, Kan., a police spokesman said.
The body was found on the river bank near the Unified Government water pollution control building near the confluence of the Missouri and Kansas rivers, according to authorities. He was originally found by Kansas City, Mo., police, who then notified Kansas City, Kan., police.
The Kansas City, Kan., police spokesman said it is thought that Porter died from a stabbing. Porter may have lived in a makeshift house near the water pollution control facility, according to police.
