Crash on I-70 injures one

One person was injured in a crash at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, July 31, on I-70 eastbound near I-435.

A 1999 Hyundai vehicle struck a Ford utility truck from behind after the truck slowed, according to the Kansas Turnpike Authority trooper’s report. The impact pushed the truck into another lane, striking a 2016 Hyundai car, the trooper’s report stated.

The driver of the 1999 Hyundai, a 34-year-old man from Kansas City, Kan., was not injured, the report stated.

The driver of the utility truck, a 24-year-old man from Lawrence, Kan., was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the report.

The driver of the 2016 Hyundai, a 26-year-old man from Acworth, Ga., was not injured, the report stated.
