A chase that started in Independence, Mo., ended on I-35 northbound near the 18th Street Expressway at 12:37 p.m. Tuesday, June 7.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, Kansas troopers were in pursuit of a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck on 75th Street at Antioch Road in Johnson County.
The vehicle ran a red light and entered I-35 from 75th Street before overturning in the south ditch near the 18th Street Expressway, according to the trooper’s report. The area of the crash was considered to be near the Johnson-Wyandotte county line.
The driver, a 31-year-old woman from Independence, Mo., was injured and taken to a hospital in Kansas City, Kan., according to the trooper’s report.
A Johnson County Jail booking report showed she was booked into the jail on a charge of fleeing a law enforcement officer and reckless driving.
