KCK police investigating two weekend shootings, one fatal

Kansas City, Kan., police are investigating two shootings over the weekend.

A teenage male died in a shooting at 11:43 p.m. Saturday, May 21, in the 2900 block of North Allis Street, according to a spokesman.

When officers responded to the call, they found the male, in his late teens, shot, lying in the street, the spokesman said. The victim was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The homicide victim has been identified as Stephon D. Egans, 18, a resident of Kansas City, Kan. He later died from his injuries, police said.

Police also are investigating a second weekend shooting.

At 4:27 p.m. Sunday, May 22, police officers responded to a shooting at 31st and Rowland Avenue, the spokesman said.

When they arrived, officers found a male in his late teens, shot, and lying in the street, the spokesman said.

The victim was taken to an area hospital in serious condition, police said.
