Temperatures may reach 70s today

The warming trend will continue today through the weekend as afternoon readings return into the 70s, according to the National Weather Service.

Look for increasing clouds today with a chance of scattered showers beginning this evening into early Friday morning, the weather service said.

Thunderstorms are possible late Sunday night into much of early next week, according to the weather service. It is too early to determine the severe potential with this activity, but a transition to a more active weather pattern is expected, forecasters said.

Today’s forecast is mostly sunny with a high near 70 and southeast wind of 3 to 7 mph.

Tonight’s forecast is mostly cloudy, with a low around 53, and a 30 percent chance of showers mainly after 1 a.m. An east southeast wind will be 5 to 7 mph. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is in the forecast.

Friday, there will be a 20 percent chance of showers with a high near 71, according to the weather service. There will be a south southeast wind of 5 to 8 mph.

Friday night, the low will be around 53, with an east southeast wind of 5 to 7 mph, according to the weather service.
Saturday, expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 75, the weather service said. Saturday night’s low will be around 58.

Sunday, the high will be near 78 with mostly sunny skies, according to the weather service. Sunday night, there will be a 40 percent chance of precipitation, with a low around 63, the weather service said.

Monday, showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast, with a 60 percent chance of precipitation, according to the weather service. The high will be near 77. Monday night, there is also a 60 percent chance of rain, with a low of 63.
