A public memorial candlelighting event is planned at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kansas City, Kan., City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., to honor Detective Brad Lancaster.
Lancaster was killed in a shooting on Monday near the Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kan.
A memorial fund for Detective Lancaster’s family has been established at Greater KC Public Safety Credit Union locations and at KCK Police headquarters.
The annual police memorial service originally scheduled for Wednesday, May 11, has been canceled. The annual service is sponsored by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department and the FOP Lodge No. 4.
