Rain, storms remain in forecast for this week

After overnight rain and storms, Monday’s forecast will be mostly cloudy through mid-morning, then becoming sunny with a high near 77, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m., according to the weather service. There will be a southwest wind of 9 to 11 mph.

The weather service said scattered to numerous severe thunderstorms are possible Tuesday evening into the overnight hours.

The primary hazards on Tuesday include large hail and damaging winds, in addition to a few possible tornadoes, the weather service said.

Storms will continue overnight into Wednesday morning with another, more isolated, severe weather threat possible Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Also, the weather service said widespread rainfall beginning Tuesday through Wednesday will produce up to a few to several inches of rain through the mid-week. This, along with additional anticipated rainfall toward the end of the week, may lead to potential flooding throughout the next week, according to the weather service.

Tonight, there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m., with a low of 62, the weather service said. A south southwest wind of 5 to 8 mph will become east southeast after midnight.

Tuesday, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m., according to the weather service. The high will be near 80. An east southeast wind of 8 to 14 mph will gust as high as 20 mph.

Tuesday night, the low will be about 61, with an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, according to the weather service. The wind will be from the south at 10 to 13 mph. Between three-quarters and one inch of rain is possible.

Wednesday, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, the weather service said. The high will be near 76. There will be a south southeast wind of 10 to 14 mph gusting to 20 mph. Between a tenth and quarter of an inch of rain may fall. Wednesday night’s low will be around 52.

Thursday’s forecast is mostly sunny with a high near 69, according to the weather service. Thursday night, there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a low of 50.

Friday, expect a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, according to the weather service, with a high near 67. Friday night’s forecast is a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with a low of 56.

Rain is in the forecast for the weekend. There is a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday, with a high of 69, the weather service said. Saturday night, there is a 50 percent chance of precipitation, with a low of 51.

Sunday, there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 63.
