A driver crashed on I-435 northbound near Woodend Road after his tire lost tread.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, a 2000 GMC pickup truck was northbound on I-435 about 2:40 p.m. Thursday, March 10, when the driver’s side rear tire lost tread.
The driver lost control, the truck went down an embankment, striking a tree, the trooper’s report stated.
The driver, a 25-year-old man from Paola, Kan., was injured and taken to a hospital, the report said.
