The Fairfax Industrial Association will sponsor a lunch on March 10 that will serve as a listening tour for businesses, seeking their opinions on how to spend or invest $12 million in a sales tax windfall in 2017.
The community is expected to receive the funds after sales tax revenue bonds are paid off on the Village West development. Until now, the sales taxes for that development have been going into a fund to pay for the development of that area.
Mayor Mark Holland will speak at the meeting.
The lunch is at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, March 10, at General Motors, 3201 Fairfax Trafficway, Kansas City, Kan.
The cost of lunch is $15 for members and nonmembers and includes lunch.
Reservations must be sent to Melissa Clark by 5 p.m. March 4 at [email protected]. Advance reservations and payments are required.
