Four vehicles were involved in an injury crash in which a sport utility vehicle overturned at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at K-7 and Parallel Parkway in Wyandotte County.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report, a Hyundai passenger car and a Chevrolet pickup truck were stopped at a red light in the left turn lane on southbound K-7.
A Ford sport utility vehicle was southbound on K-7, made a lane change and struck the Hyundai, the trooper’s report stated.
The Hyundai then was pushed into the pickup truck, according to the report.
The Ford SUV continued through the intersection, went into the center median and struck a one-way sign pole, the trooper’s report stated.
Then the Ford SUV went into the northbound lanes of K-7 and struck a Toyota SUV that was southbound, the report stated. The Ford SUV next went into the east ditch and overturned, the trooper’s report said.
The driver of the Ford SUV, a 48-year-old man from Kansas City, Kan., was not injured, according to the trooper’s report.
The driver of the Hyundai car, a 38-year-old man from Leavenworth, Kan., was injured and taken to a hospital, the report stated.
A passenger in the Hyundai, a 29-year-old woman from Leavenworth, Kan., also was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the report.
The driver of the Chevrolet pickup truck, a 61-year-old man from Tonganoxie, Kan., was not injured, the report stated.
A passenger in the pickup truck, a 47-year-old woman from Tonganoxie, Kan., was injured and taken to a hospital, according to the report.
The driver of the Toyota SUV, a 28-year-old woman from Kansas City, Mo., was not injured, the report stated.
A 27-year-old male passenger from Kansas City, Mo., in the Toyota also was not injured, according to the report.
