A man died in a traffic crash at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, on northbound I-35 at 7th Street Trafficway in Kansas City, Kan., according to a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper’s report.
Robert J. Rowland III, 54, of Shawnee, Kan., died in the accident, according to the trooper’s report.
He was driving a 2013 Nissan Leaf that was northbound on I-35 when another vehicle traveling in the wrong direction hit him head-on, the trooper’s report stated. Rowland was driving in the correct direction on the interstate.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 2015 Toyota Highlander, was a 32-year-old woman from Overland Park, Kan. She had a possible injury and was taken to the hospital, the trooper’s report stated.
