The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. today because of high winds and the danger of fire.
Critical fire conditions are occurring today, according to the weather service. The fire danger also will remain Friday.
The high winds today combine with high temperatures, predicted to be near 71 degrees, and low relative humidity to result in the red flag warning, according to the weather service.
Any fires that develop could spread quickly today, the weather service said. Outdoor burning is not recommended, according to the weather service.
Southwest winds in the region will be around 25 mph, gusting up to 45 mph, the weather service said.
Besides fire danger, lightweight materials could be blown around today and driving conditions could be difficult on highways, according to the weather service.
The area is also under a wind advisory from 11 a.m. today until 9 p.m. tonight, the weather service said.
Tonight’s low will be around 55, with a south southwest wind of 20 to 23 mph, gusting to 36 mph, according to the weather service.
Friday, the low will be around 68, with a west wind of 10 to 18 mph, gusting as high as 23 mph, the weather service said.
Friday night, it will be mostly clear with a low of 44, according to the weather service, and a west southwest wind of 3 to 8 mph.
Saturday, the high will be near 69, with a calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph in the afternoon, the weather service said.
Saturday night, the low will be 44. There is a 30 percent chance of showers, the weather service said.
Sunday’s high will be near 58, according to the weather service.
