Rain returns to forecast

There is a 30 percent chance of patchy rain before 3 p.m. today, then a chance of rain and snow after 5 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

The best chance for the wintry mix will be north of Wyandotte County, near St. Joseph, Mo., and farther north, the weather service said.

Today’s high will be near 40, with cloudy skies, according to the weather service. The wind will change from south southeast to west northwest in the afternoon, and could gust as high as 25 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight’s low will be around 26, according to the weather service. A west northwest wind of 10 to 15 mph may gust as high as 22 mph.

Tuesday, it will be partly sunny with a high near 34 and a northwest wind of 9 to 13 mph, the weather service said. Tuesday night’s forecast is a low of 21.

Wednesday, expect sunny skies and a high of 41, the weather service said. Wednesday night, the low will be around 30 with mostly clear skies.

On Thursday, it will be sunny with a high of 48, according to the weather service. Thursday night, the low will be around 31.

Friday, the temperature will hit a high of 55 with sunny skies, the weather service said. Saturday’s high will be near 54 and Sunday, near 45.
