UG committee to consider ordinance change tonight

A Unified Government standing committee tonight will consider a change to an ordinance concerning refinancing bonds.

Committees will meet beginning at 5 p.m. Jan. 4 at City Hall, 701 N. 7th St., Kansas City, Kan.

On the agenda for the 5:30 p.m. UG Economic Development and Finance meeting Jan. 4 at City Hall, fifth floor, is an ordinance that would allow the UG to increase the financing authority from $7.125 million to $13.86 million on the refinance of the Wyandotte Plaza special obligation revenue bonds.

Also on the agenda is a request to approve a $750,000 budget revision to the employee health fund from the county general fund.

Another agenda item is a request to set a Jan. 28 public hearing to consider authorization of the purchase of new banners and trash receptacles within the Self-Supporting Municipal Improvement District (SSMID) in downtown Kansas City, Kan.

Also scheduled is a presentation on the $4 million Catalytic Urban PreDevelopment Fund of LISC of Greater Kansas City.

At the 5 p.m. Neighborhood and Community Development Committee meeting Jan. 4, on the agenda is a presentation and discussion of goals for 311, a telephone number used by the UG to provide information to residents.

Also scheduled at the meeting is consideration of a number of Land Bank applications.
