The Unified Government and Board of Public Utilities offices will be closed Friday, Jan. 1, for the New Year’s Day holiday.
UG offices will reopen during regular business hours on Monday, Jan. 4, according to an announcement in the UG newsletter.
Trash and recycling collection will be delayed on day following the holiday, according to Deffenbaugh. Normal trash schedules will be in effect Monday through Thursday. Friday trash collection will be moved to Saturday.
Friday, Jan. 1, is also a federal and state holiday. Those offices will be closed.
Jan. 1 also is a U.S. Postal Service holiday.
The Kansas City, Kan., Public Libraries will close Thursday, Dec. 31, and Friday, Jan. 1, for the New Year’s holiday.
