The Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and Christ the King Catholic Church choirs will hold a recital, “Love Says Welcome,” at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at Blessed Sacrament, 2203 Parallel, Kansas City, Kan.

Members of Christ the King School will participate in the 5:30 p.m. Mass for the feast of Christ the King Saturday, Nov. 21, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3024 N. 53rd St., Kansas City, Kan. A taco bingo will be held after the 5:30 p.m. Mass on Saturday, Nov. 21, at Christ the King Church Davern Hall.

The Altar Society of Holy Family Church will hold a chili supper and turkey bingo at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Monsignor Mejak Hall, 513 Ohio, Kansas City, Kan. A chili supper dessert and drink will be served from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Bingo starts at 7:30 p.m. The donation is $15 for the chili super and one bingo card. Those attending must be 21 and older. A weekly Scripture Group with Bible Sharing and Reflection, Lectio and Journaling, is offered from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesdays at Keeler Women’s Center, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kan. An Advent Retreat for Women is planned Dec. 2 at Keeler Women’s Center, 2220 Central Ave., Kansas City, Kan. “Learning to Wait: Using Advent to Deepen our Understanding of God’s Time,” is the theme of the retreat. It will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Keeler Center. A light supper will be served from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. Jenny Greene, pastoral minister at St. Teresa’s Academy, will lead the retreat. There will be time for sharing, reflection and prayer. Reservations are required to 913-906-8990.

Members of Open Door Baptist Church, 3033 N. 103rd Terrace, are packing shoeboxes with gifts for needy children in Operation Christmas Child. The shoeboxes are being dropped off through Nov. 15.

Risen Lamb International Church of the Nazarene, located in the Turner area of Kansas City, Kan., has announced the opening of the Risen Lamb Prayer Room and Retreat Center. On location at their church at 5301 Metropolitan Avenue, the prayer room and retreat center is open to the public for daytime retreats. All individuals or small groups seeking a quiet, sacred space to gather, pray, meditate, journal or read resources about prayer are welcome. The prayer room provides a peaceful space for solitude or can be scheduled in advance for groups of up to eight people. Guests seeking spiritual guidance may schedule a time of spiritual direction with one of the pastoral staff, and groups may inquire about scheduling a member of the pastoral team to lead or speak at a retreat. A Holiday Mart is planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, in the Cole Activity Center at Stony Point Christian Church, 149 S. 78th St. Vendors and crafters will have items for sale. Refreshments will be available. Proceeds of the Holiday Mart will be used to fund the young adult mission trip to Haiti in 2016.

It will be “Stewardship Sunday” Nov. 22 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1300 N. 18th St., Kansas City, Kan. The service in English will be at 10 a.m. and in Spanish at 7 p.m. An all-parish luncheon is planned at 11:30 a.m.

Wyandotte United Methodist Church, 7901 Oakland Ave., is planning an all-church celebration dinner after the 11 a.m. service, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 22. Barbecued brisket and pulled pork are on the menu. The church’s UMW is planning a Gathering for Giving Thanks, a few minutes of prayer, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the church.
