Red flag warning on today’s winds

Winds will remain strong and gusty today but will gradually diminish this evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds may gust as high as 30 mph at times this afternoon.

The combo of gusty westerly winds, low humidity levels and dry vegetation could result in rapid fire growth and loss of containment, the weather service said.

The weather service warned residents against outdoor burning today.

Today’s weather is sunny with a high near 58. It will be breezy, with a west northwest wind of 13 to 21 mph, and gusts as high as 30 mph, the weather service said.

Tonight, expect clear skies and a low of 33, with a west wind of 6 to 10 mph.

Friday’s forecast is sunny with a high near 56, the weather service said. There will be a west wind of 6 to 10 mph.

Friday night, it will be clear with a low around 39, the weather service said. A light south wind will increase to 5 to 9 mph in the evening.

Saturday’s forecast is sunny with a high near 64, the weather service said. There will be a south southwest wind of 9 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.
