Police investigate shooting death on West 42nd Avenue

Police are investigating a homicide Sunday morning in the 2800 block of West 42nd Avenue.

When officers arrived at the shooting location about 4:43 a.m. Nov. 8, they found a man in his early 40s inside an apartment complex, dead from an apparent gunshot wound, according to a Kansas City, Kan., police spokesman.

The identity of the victim is being withheld until there is positive identification and family notification.

The incident is under investigation by the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Major Case Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
