It is official. The new 17-story Verruckt waterslide located at Schlitterbahn Waterpark in Kansas City, Kan., is the world’s largest.

A representative from Guinness World Records was on hand to make it official today. If you’ve ever seen it will put a new meaning to the word fear.

Also on hand today were Mayor Mark Holland and Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback.

When asked when you plan to ride on the slide, Mayor Holland replied, “On May 23 both the governor and I will be going on it together,” although this is a tentative date. Each raft that goes down the slide will have four persons on it.

May 23 is the opening day for Schlitterbahn’s season. The monster ride, now officially the world’s tallest, is located at 94th and State in Kansas City, Kan. For more information, visit www.Schlitterbahn.com.
