The Board of Public Utilities met Nov. 4 at the board offices at 540 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, Kan.
At the regular session David Mehlhaff gave a presentation on what is going on with the Rosedale Development Association. Mehlhaff also gave a presentation on Board of Public Utilities communication awards.
Doug Quach of Western Fuels gave an update to the board.
During board comments, several board members thanked everyone who contributed to the United Way of Wyandotte County campaign.
Don Gray, general manager of the board, said, “I want to encourage anyone to attend our regular sessions, we are constantly looking at ways to keep the energy costs down.”
He also said in his comments that the BPU will be the host of the Fairfax Industrial Association meeting where the keynote speaker is going to be former mayor and CEO of the Unified Government, Joe Reardon. Reardon is currently the head of the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority and will talk about what is going on in regarding mass transit in the Kansas City area. This will happen from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Nov. 12.
