Rain likely today, frost possible Wednesday night

Overcast skies with showers will dominate today and into tonight, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

A few rumbles of thunder cannot be ruled out, but otherwise no severe or other hazardous weather is expected, the weather service said.

Today there is a 70 percent chance of rain between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., the weather service stated. Skies will be cloudy with a high near 57. An east wind around 5 mph will become calm in the afternoon.

Tonight, there is a 40 percent chance of rain, mainly before midnight. The low will be 48. A calm wind will change to the west 5 to 8 mph after midnight, the weather service said.

Wednesday’s weather will be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 60, according to the weather service. A west northwest wind of 8 to 16 mph will gust as high as 24 mph.

Wednesday night, a patchy frost will be possible after 4 a.m., and there will be a low temperature of around 35, the weather service said. A west wind will be 7 to 9 mph.

Thursday morning, expect patchy frost before 7 a.m., according to the weather service. Skies later will become sunny with a high near 56. There will be a west northwest wind of 7 to 9 mph.

Thursday night, it will be partly cloudy, with a low of 38, according to the weather service.
