Burn ban lifted today

A burn ban has been lifted today in Kansas City, Kan., according to the Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department spokesman.

Persons who want to burn residential lawn clippings, tree branches and organic waste need to have a permit from a Kansas City, Kan., fire station.

The permit is required at least 24 hours before burning can take place.

There also are other rules concerning residential open burning.
