Kline sues, seeks return of law license

Former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline filed suit Monday in the U.S. District Court in Kansas against the justices of the Kansas Supreme Court and replacement judges who suspended his law license in 2013.

Kline’s suit maintains that the disciplinary judgment against Kline is void because of the composition of the court after May 2012, when five of the seven justices stepped aside from hearing Kline’s case.

The complaint alleges other procedural and constitutional errors in the case, including due process and equal protection violations.
