Construction work continues on bridges near Kansas City, Mo., baseball stadium

Baseball fans headed to Kansas City Royals post-season games on Thursday and Friday may meet some road projects around the stadium.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, there is an extensive bridge rehabilitation project on the Stadium Road Bridges over I-435 and I-70 in Kansas City, Mo., that will affect traffic. The construction zone will be in place during the games.

Construction has restricted lanes on Stadium Road Bridges to one lane each direction and those traveling to the stadium should plan accordingly. Both bridges are located at Gates 6 and 7 (Bus/RV Exit) near Arrowhead. Motorists traveling to these gates should expect some potential delays. KC Scout message boards will also direct traffic to Blue Ridge Cutoff for gates 2 and 3 for a faster commute. This is a full around-the-clock lane closure but all work will be performed during daytime, work hours, according to MoDOT. All work is weather dependent.
