Sunny, windy day ahead

Expect another few days of well-above normal temperatures, with highs in the upper 80s to perhaps some 90s, according to the National Weather Service.

Strong thunderstorms return Thursday night and Friday, with heavy rain and gusty winds being the primary hazards, the weather service said.

Storms move out by Friday night, leaving pleasant weather for the upcoming weekend, forecasters said.

Today, expect a sunny day with a high near 85, according to the weather service. A south wind will be from 10 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Tonight’s low will be around 74.

Thursday, there will be a slight chance of showers and storms after 4 p.m., the weather service said. The high will be near 88 and it will be a windy day, with gusts up to 28 mph.

The chance of showers Thursday night and Friday will increase to 60 percent, according to the weather service.
